Hosta ‘Grateful Red’ is a striking hybrid from Jeff Moore, created by crossing (‘Neat Splash’ x ‘Designer Genes’) with ‘Katsuragawa Beni’. This unique hosta features pointed, grass-green leaves edged with a slim, snow-white border. Its red petioles add a bold splash of color at the base of each leaf. Not only does ‘Grateful Red’ bring vibrant color to shady gardens, but it’s also a proven parent plant—passing on its red petioles, red-edged leaves, and even a rosy blush to its offspring. In late summer, it produces red scapes topped with lavender blooms.
