A standout hybrid from Jeff Moore, ‘Tasmanian Toad’ is the result of crossing ‘Flemish Design’ with ‘Orange Star’ and is among his favorite tetraploid introductions. This hosta features smooth, yellow leaves that are often lightly speckled with green, giving each plant a unique and lively appearance. The foliage has excellent substance, and, for a tetraploid, the growth rate is impressively fast. One of its most intriguing features is the slightly translucent leaves, allowing you to catch glimpses of the emerging scapes beneath. In summer, ‘Tasmanian Toad’ produces fertile, lavender blooms, adding an extra layer of charm to this distinctive hosta.
